Godzilla Vs. MechaGodzilla II

This is one of the better movies from the Heisei series. It brings back and updates two
kaiju from the Showa series, MechaGodzilla and Rodan. The new look for MechaGodzilla and
Rodan (Radon) were very good. I liked the fact that Rodan finally was given a long range
attack (the fire breath), it has been something I have wanted to see since first
watching Rodan fight another monster. MechaGodzilla gets keeps its usual armament of
missiles and lasers, but still gets some new weapons like the grasper cables. The
addition of a new "baby godzilla" was not one of the finer points of the movie.

The plot of this movie is a lot better then the first Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla. There
were no aliens trying to take over the world. It was humans vs monsters in this movie.

The dubbing was done well enough that the movie wasn't screwed up. The scene with the
near death of Godzilla and the sacrifice of Rodan was one of the best parts of the
movie. The battle scenes were mostly done pretty well too, though with MechaGodzilla it
is mostly lasers and missiles instead of physical attacking, which I favor a balance
between the two.

Though the movie had it's occasional plot holes (like none of the movies have had any
plot holes) it was an all out good movie for the average Godzilla fan.
